SPLITTING THE G SHAPE

Between the six chord shapes available (the generators), the G form is certainly the hardest one to play. Still, it remains a very useful position, especially if we think of it as two chords. The first one uses strings 6 5 4 3, the second one, strings 4 3 2 1.

The lower shape has a 1 3 5 8 formula, the upper shape a 5 8 3 8 formula

Here are a few examples taken from the G shape(s). play them by pair (lower, then upper), I am sure you will find this useful.
